Organic Cold Pressed Juices

What is ‘cold pressed’ juice?

Thrive juices are made on a large hydraulic cold press.  Like the name implies, this pressing action keeps the juices at cold temperatures. Small centrifugal juicers heat up the fruits and vegetables as they rotate.  This heat kills off nutritional enzymes and other nutrients within the juice. Keeping the vegetables and fruits cold results in a nutritionally packed juice with live enzymes, vitamins, trace minerals, and other vital elements. One bottle of Thrive  Juice contains over 3 pounds of raw, organic produce.

What is your juice shelf life?

Our juices are raw and organic. We do not use any preservatives or additives in our juice.  Once purchased the juices should always remain chilled. The juices will last 3 days in your refrigerator.  Once you open the bottle, we recommend to drink it within 24 hours to get the most nutrients out of the juice.

Where does your produce come from?

Thrive sources its organic produce locally within the Bay Area.

After spending a few days on this cleaner, lighter diet of fresh pressed juices you will feel more energized and clearer in body and mind.

Will this slow my metabolism?

Everyone and every cleanse experience is different. Typically, if you have a fast metabolism you may slow down as you are not taking in as much energy. However, if you have a slow metabolism, clearing out toxins allows your body to begin functioning more efficiently.

Where do I get my protein?

With Thrive you’ll receive protein from leafy greens in our Green Juices as well as our Cashew Nut Milk. The Amino acids in green juice are the building blocks of protein. Other great sources of protein include blue-green algae and Green Superfood Powders that can be found at your local Whole Foods.

Thrive’s green juice is very alkalizing, while fruit juices are more astringent. The fruit will dig up the toxins and the greens will move it out.

Health benefits of bone broth?

Bone broth is rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and other trace minerals. The minerals in broth are easily absorbed by the body and can help mitigate the deleterious effects of arthritis and joint pain. Bone broths are rich in gelatin, gelatin is a source of supplementary protein. Gelatin also shows promise in the fight against degenerative joint disease. It helps to support the connective tissue in your body and also helps the fingernails and hair to grow well and strong.

What is HPP and why is it controversial?

High Pressure Processing (HPP) is a method of food processing where food is subjected to elevated pressures (up to 87,000 pounds per square inch or approximately 6,000 atmospheres), with or without the addition of heat, to achieve microbial inactivation or to alter the food attributes in order to achieve consumer-desired qualities.

The downside to a consumer of drinking an HPP juice is that you are drinking a sterilized juice which may have an impact on its nutrient value, and the juice is technically not fresh – it’s preserved. The primary advantage of HPP to a manufacturer is that HPP extends the shelf life of raw juices from 10 to 30 days depending on the juice.

We believe that vital and good companion bacteria are destroyed and truly raw juice is filled with necessary and naturally occurring prebiotic and probiotic organisms. There is evidence that HPP does in fact diminish nutrient value in some types of juices – not all. This is the subject of much controversy.

Thrive Juicery will never use HPP.  Our product is fresh and raw and must be consumed within 72 hours.

Why don’t you use glass bottles?

While glass is pretty, plastic is more environmentally sound choice than glass. We use PETE #1 plastic as it is generally considered the safest single-use plastic-bottle choice.
